Removing Your Vespa Engine

Shown here is a crescent wrench on the swingarm nut (note that this is on the opposite side of the scooter). Place firmly on the nut, and if you can, have a friend hold it in place for you while you use the 22mm socket on the other side of the scooter to turn the swingarm bolt counter clockwise.

Take note that in this case, the nut was rusted on the swingarm bolt, so to remove I had a friend hold the crescent wrench on the engine side of the scooter, while I removed the nut with a 22mm socket, and an impact wrench. There really is no substitute for the correct tools!
