Removing Your Vespa Engine

We're getting close now. Before these next few steps make sure you have the rear of the bike raised on a stable platform, and it also would be a good idea to have a friend handy to stabilize the bike.

Using a 14mm wrench (on the front side) and a 13mm wrench (for the backside), remove the lower shock mount nut by turning the 14mm wrench counter clockwise, while you hold your 13mm in place to keep the nut from spinning freely.

Once the nut is removed, use pliers or vice grips to pull the bolt out. Once this bolt is out, the back of your engine will drop, so make sure you have a friend ready to steady the bike when you pull that bolt out!
